About settings
Open Settings → App → About for version information and account settings. The panel gathers everything that describes this installation and this account.
Version
The Version row shows the running Echo version. Direct-distribution builds also provide Check for updates: when a newer version exists, Echo offers to download, verify, and install it, then restarts itself. Mac App Store builds receive updates through the store instead.
Account
The account card shows the signed-in identity, the licence tier, and the current balances: Cloud & AI Credits and Local Transcription minutes. Use Refresh Credits to refresh the balance after purchasing or when the numbers look stale.
- Manage Account opens the account dashboard on the web.
- Upgrade is available on direct-distribution builds for accounts that can change plan.
- Sign Out ends the local session; transcription that depends on account state stops until you sign in again.
- Delete Account runs a guided, multi-step confirmation. It permanently deletes the Budgie account and its cloud data. Recordings and history stored locally on this machine remain and must be removed separately — see Privacy & Data.
Onboarding
Re-run onboarding schedules the first-run wizard for the next launch. It is a setup guide reset, not a data reset: nothing is deleted and no setting is reverted.
Support
Report a Bug opens a form sent through the authenticated gateway: a short title, a description with reproduction steps, and an optional Include application logs attachment (the most recent log lines only — see Diagnostics for what logs can contain and how to redact them).
Upgrade
The Upgrade tab appears only for accounts whose plan can change. On the web build it links to the pricing page; on the Mac App Store build it lists the available in-app products and provides Restore purchases for recovering a purchase made with your Apple ID.
